Georgia: Deal calls for business court. Gov. Nathan Deal (R), in an appearance before the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs & Issues breakfast, says he will ask the legislature to pass a constitutional amendment to establish a business court so that complex corporate cases can be handled by judges who aren’t required to handle criminal and other civil cases. Many states have such courts. The amendment will have to pass both chambers of the legislature by a two-thirds margin then pass a statewide referendum, reports WABE ……. South Carolina: Graham evolves regarding Trump. US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) said about Trump in 2016, when they were rivals for the White House,” I think he’s a kook. I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit for office.” Fast forward to November 2017, near the end of President Trump’s first year in office. Graham then said of Trump, “What concerns me about the American press is this endless, endless attempt to label the guy as some kind of kook not fit to be president,” reported ABC News…….Tennessee: Corker evolves on Trump. US Sen. Bob Corker (R) has had “more ups and downs” with Trump, says ABC News. In July 2016, Corker said of Trump, “He loves you, and he wants the best for you.” Trump called Corker “a great friend of mine.” But during Trump’s first year in office, Corker said the White House was “an adult day care center.” Recently, however, Corker flew with the President to Nashville. Asked about his change of heart, Corker said, “I’ve got a job to do. I’m the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, people in our state expect me to do my job.” …….
