Tennessee: Corker praises Trump at Davos. US Sen. Bob Corker (R), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said at a panel in Davos, Switzerland, moderated by Washington Post editor Martin Baron,  “Our European allies are far more interested in talking with us about what we might do as the result of the fact that we have a person who they know is somewhat unpredictable…” ……. Texas: Poll shows O’Rourke narrowing gap with Cruz. A survey conducted by Public Policy Polling (D) found that US Sen. Ted Cruz (R) is down to an 8-point lead over his challenger, US Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D), down from an 18-point gap earlier this year. The poll, touted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, gave Cruz 45%, O’Rourke 37% ……. Kentucky: Groups sue to stop Medicaid work requirement. By granting the state of Kentucky a waiver from current rules that bar a work requirement under Medicaid, the Trump administration has “effectively rewritten the statute … overturning a half-century of administrative practice,” charged a lawsuit brought by the National Health Law Program, the Kentucky Equal Justice Center and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The suit also contends that the new policy is “threatening irreparable harm to the health and welfare of the poorest and most vulnerable in country,” reports the Washington Post …….
