Oklahoma: Lankford endorses keeping families together at border. US Sen. James Lankford (R) took to the Senate floor Monday to express his concern over the current policy of separating children from their parents at the US – Mexico border, urging his colleagues to address immigration reform to resolve this issue. Lanford joins other GOPers, including US Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who expressed his opposition to the controversial policy in late May ……. Tennessee: Blackburn blames left for family separations. Volunteer State Republican US Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker have urged the Trump Administration to end its policies of separating children from their parents at the border while Congress considers immigration reform. But GOP Senate candidate US Rep. Marsha Blackburn says that while her “heart breaks for the families,” liberals in Congress are to blame for refusing to provide funds to enforce immigration laws or build appropriate facilities for families seeking asylum ……. South Carolina: McMaster, Warren support Trump immigration enforcement. In a campaign for the June 26 GOP’s gubernatorial runoff, both Gov. Henry McMaster and his challenger, businessman John Warren, are supporting President Trump’s enforcement of immigration law involving separation of families. The two “are attempting to out-Trump each other,” wrote Post & Courier columnist Caitlin Byrd. Indeed, at a Monday news conference, McMaster took a phone call from Trump. Meanwhile, US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has said, “President Trump could stop this policy with a phone call.” …….
