South Carolina: Trump, Pence to stump for McMaster. On Monday, the day before the Republican gubernatorial runoff, President Trump will visit Columbia to campaign for his long-time supporter, Gov. Henry McMaster. Two days earlier, on Saturday, Vice President Pence will also campaign in the state for McMaster. McMaster faces Greenville businessman John Warren for the Republican nomination for governor ……. Virginia: Northam recalls National Guard from border. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) has ordered four national guardsmen and a helicopter to return to Virginia from the border with Mexico. “When Virginia deployed these resources to the border, we expected that they would play a role in preventing criminals, drug runners and other threats to our security from crossing into the United States – not supporting a policy of arresting families and separating children from their parents,” he said in a statement reported in the Washington Post ……. Tennessee: Corker concerned about tariff exclusion. In a letter to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, US Sen. Bob Corker (R), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, asked for “further details regarding the process for granting exclusions,” which allow businesses damaged by tariffs to request an exclusion from the tariffs. “These tariffs already are disrupting and damaging numerous American businesses,” Corker wrote …….
