Texas: Supreme Court upholds legislative districts. In a 5-to-4 decision that broke along party lines, the US Supreme Court overruled lower court decisions that held the Texas legislative districts discriminated against Latinos. The high court ruled only one legislative district was drawn with intent to discriminate. Otherwise, the current districts will be used in elections this November ……. Alabama: Trump endorses Roby. In 2016, US Rep. Martha Roby (R) declined to support Trump for president, citing the Access Hollywood tape. On Friday, however, President Trump tweeted his support for Roby, who is in a runoff with former US Rep. Bobby Bright (D>R). Trump cited Roby’s “consistent and reliable” support of his legislative agenda ……. Virginia: Trump calls restaurant “dirty.” In response to Lexington, VA’s Red Hen Restaurant’s refusal to serve his press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family, President Trump tweeted on Friday, “The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside.” ……..
